LG Electronics, the regional and global digital leader, is showcasing IrisAccess 3000, the most accurate biometrics identification system available in the world, at GITEX.
LG IrisAccess 3000 is poised to leverage advanced biometric technology and deliver the best identification solution for maximum security. With enrolment taking less than a minute, LG IrisAccess™ 3000 captures and processes a digitised representation of the unique human iris in less than two seconds.
‘The product’s advanced fake eye detection, non-contact authentication, enhanced operating range, and faster recognition speeds are drawing great interest from users of various industries, including transportation, government, science, banking and the private sector,’ said Mohammed Murad, Director of Sales and Business Development for Iris Technology Division of LG Electronics USA, Inc.
Murad was visiting GITEX to promote the technology, which has also been used in national identity, immigration, benefits administration, and criminal justice applications, and is certain to attract great attention across the Middle East as security becomes of increased concern.
In the UAE, the technology is sold through a channel of specialist companies, including Arabian Technologies, which also integrates the LG IrisAccess 3000 into customer’s operations
Niaz Ahmed, Biometric Business Development Manager for Arabian Technologies, said: “This system has caused a real stir at GITEX. It is ideal for border control points, airports, hospitals, data centres – in fact anywhere where safeguarding human and physical assets makes access control and security a high priority.
“Other biometric systems have their place. For example, fingerprint technology is well established, but has both performance and human factor issues in certain applications, and under certain conditions. LG IrisAccess 3000, is unique, incomparably scalable, fast, and more accurate.’
System users simply need to register once – and usage is highly intuitive. A user positioned 3 to 10 inches away from the Enrolment Optical Unit is detected by proximity sensor. Guided by a mirror and an audio-assisted interface, the camera automatically focuses, and captures the iris image.
Mohammed Murad said: “LG Electronics Iris Technology Division is a global leader in this dynamic market sector, and GITEX has proved that the Middle East is ready to embrace this incredible technology.’
Murad added that during GITEX, both private and public sector visitors have shown great interest in deploying the system to provide enhanced security.
LG’s IrisAccess 3000 system software runs on a standard PC. The company can also provide a software development kit, to allow customers to tailor the system to their specific needs or environments.
